Hoʻoponopono is an ancient Hawaiian self-healing practice and powerful technique, taught by Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, that can be used to forgive ourselves, forgive others, and release the weight of past hurts and wrong-doings.

When we hold onto negative feelings like anger, resentment, hurt and grudges, it weighs us down, and it builds negative energetic bonds between us and the person we are upset with (whether we are in contact with them or not!). Those feelings and patterns continue to be reflected in our lives until we choose to heal. By forgiving the other person, you not only free yourself, but you heal the energy between both of you.

Ho’oponopono is a short but powerful prayer that contains four phrases that will help shift your vibration and heal your relationships with other people (and no, you don’t have to even say anything to them!) The healing is done on an energetic level.

The Four Phrases are:

  • I love you.

  • I’m sorry.

  • Please forgive me.

  • Thank you.

Setting an intention of forgiveness and repeating these four phrases is a way for us to raise our vibrational frequency, let go of emotional baggage, clear the energetic field, and create more well--being and positive outcomes in our lives. Whenever I have used this meditation and set a specific intention to release hurt feelings and forgive another, I have seen instant positive transformation.

Use this meditation when you want to let go of the past, forgive yourself or another person & watch how the energy between you is transformed. If you are forgiving someone you are no longer in contact with but want to forgive them and the past, you will still see the benefit in your life and well-being.
