Happy people don't have the best of everything. They make the best of everything. This means no matter what is happening around them, they look for the best in the situation and find things to appreciate. So, you don't have to wait for anything to be happy; it's all within you and can be found in the present moment.
Below are a few tips to begin feeling happier everyday:
Practice Gratitude Take a moment to say at least 3 things you are grateful for every single day. What you focus on expands, so when you are acknowledging what you like and are grateful for, you are asking for more of that to come to you and it also works the opposite way - when you are noticing what you don't like and focusing on that, it's only going to become bigger. Take Inventory Make a list of the things that bring you joy, and the things that don’t. Adjust your time and schedule accordingly. Note: this can be a process, especially if it's a career or relationship change you want to make. But you can start by finding little things that bring joy and the feeling of satisfaction to your day. Feelings of satisfaction and happiness go hand in hand - so it could be a workout you love, cooking a new recipe, cleaning and organizing your home etc.
Spend Time in Nature Get out in the sun everyday, sit in the grass and walk on the beach. The sun has so many nutrients and information for our cells to absorb that science doesn’t even understand yet, but it will most definitely lift your mood and make you feel good. Grounding will too.
Exercise Whether it's a walk, playing your favorite sport or a pilates class, just make sure it's something you enjoy so you move your body regularly. Exercise releases all the feel good hormones and shifts your energy to a higher vibration.

Think about your progress, not perfection Stay focused on your PROGRESS, not how far you have to go, or what you have to do next. Honor your growth, and know that there is a process and gestation period for your desires. Things are constantly evolving - even when you can't see the results. Stay focused and stop comparing yourself to others. If you are going to compare yourself to anyone, compare yourself to where you were a year ago or even 6 months ago.
Set Boundaries Boundaries are the ultimate form of self-love. Set them with yourself and others, especially around the things that cause unnecessary stress or build resentment within you. Boundaries will contribute greatly to your happiness because you will be honoring your needs before trying to give to others. Daily self-care, and honoring yourself is essential to your happiness.
Be of Service Honoring your needs and loving yourself are important but sometimes we get too caught up in our own heads that we forget we are here to be of service to others. Take the focus off of yourself by helping others when you can and practice random acts of kindness everyday.
Complain Less It doesn't make you feel good, so why do it?
Laugh More Don't take everything so seriously and find the humor in situations.
Be Easier on Yourself Happiness is not a permanent state of being and shifting emotions are normal. Allow your emotions to come and go, knowing they are only temporary, but they are also bringing awareness to choices and changes you can make to support your happiness and well-being.
